I entered the construction industry the day after leaving school, working for numerous local small builders out on site. However, it’s fair to say that my strengths and skills weren’t best suited to the operational world, so, after a few site-based roles, lots of sunburn and many poorly made cups of tea, I was offered a surveying job at a small Civil Engineering business in Essex. I worked here for 20 years, working my way up from Junior Surveyor to Commercial Business Partner, helping to grow the business from £5m turnover to £100m+.
After 20 years it was time for a change so I joined SEH Asphalt in 2026. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time so far, and there really is a family feel to the group.
Outside work, I am an out-and-out family man, happily married to my wife Amy for over 15 years now. We have two amazing children, Maisy now almost 18 and Stanley 13. We are a close-knit family and try to do as much as we can together. We love walking our dogs and seeing our family and friends at weekends, however nothing still beats a takeaway and BGT on a Saturday night! I’m also a keen golfer and try to play as much as I possibly can.
